The "Czech Lion" range of investment coins of the Czech Mint may be used to save money in precious metals, but their elaborated relief also attracts anyone who wants to expand their numismatic collection or give a special gift. The beauty of the silver coin with the year 2023 is emphasised by the double plating - with precious gold and exceptional black platinum.
The extraordinary variant of the Czech Lion investment coin stands out with its sophisticated play of colours, which is not often seen in coinage. The silver coin is covered with a layer of black platinum - a noble material that is characterised by higher hardness, density and durability compared to silver or gold. The central relief is then selectively gold-plated, which gives the coin a distinctive contrasting appearance.
The reverse side of the coin is dominated by a gilded motif - an unusually realistic Czech lion guarding the St. Wenceslas crown. The obverse side presents lime branches together with an eagle, which is a synthesis of the St. Wenceslas, Moravian and Silesian birds of prey. The author of the relief is traditionally the medal maker Asamat Baltaev, DiS. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the licence of a foreign issuer, which is the island of Niue, their obverse side bears its necessary elements - the national emblem, the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2023.
Do not miss the very first coin of the Czech Mint embellished with black platinum.
